A painted mural featuring both Crow language text and traditional indigenous imagery adorns a community building on the 2.3-million-acre reservation. The Apsáalooke language, like the clan system, faces preservation challenges as Jonathan Kingston noted: "When I lived here two decades ago, it was rare to hear conversations in English... now, in a single generation, the opposite is true."
