A swirling school of humpback snappers (Lutjanus gibbus) streams through the azure waters of Rangiroa Atoll in French Polynesia, their silvery bodies and distinctive yellow eyes creating a mesmerizing pattern of movement captured through slow shutter speed photography. These commercially important reef fish, recognizable by their humped foreheads and reddish fins, form dense aggregations during spawning events timed with lunar cycles, transforming the atoll's channels into living rivers of fish that attract larger predators and support the complex food web of one of the world's largest coral atolls.
