A decorated camel dips its muzzle into a water trough creating concentric ripples while its handler, dressed in traditional white clothing and yellow scarf, guides it during the early morning light at Pushkar. This centuries-old desert fair, situated at one of Hinduism's five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites), combines religious ritual with one of the world's largest camel markets where Rajasthani traders have gathered annually for over 500 years.
