This gallery presents a behind-the-scenes look at National Geographic Photo Camp on Montana's Crow Indian Reservation, captured by National Geographic photographer Jonathan Kingston. These images document Crow (Apsáalooke) youth learning photography to explore and preserve their cultural heritage, organized by Kingston (an adopted tribal member) and Crow Tribal Historic Preservation Officer Aaron Brien. Underwritten by a National Geographic Society grant with support from National Geographic Magazine editors and staff, the camp empowered indigenous youth to connect with their traditions through visual storytelling.
