Welcome to Kingston Images, featuring the work of photographer Jonathan Kingston. Jonathan specializes in underwater, exotic travel, and adventure sports photography. Schedule permitting, he is available for advertising and commercial projects as well as editorial and documentary projects.
Climber, diver, intrepid adventurer and award winning photographer Jonathan
Kingston brings true creativity and passion to the world of image making.
His enthusiasm for finding the right situation and subjects to photograph
has taken him all over the world.
Jonathan received his first degree from Virginia Tech in the field of
Mass Communications and his second from Brooks Institute of Photography
in Commercial Photography. The talent he possesses spans the full spectrum
of the world of image making from the covers of books and magazines to
recognition in elite photographic competitions. Some of his accomplishments
include distinction in Communication Arts and PDN’s Photo Annual
competitions.
Aside from a full shooting schedule, Jonathan has been teaching photographic workshops for
several years. He spent two of those years instructing at India’s
first college dedicated solely to photography. On his way back from India to the
United States, he decided to take a detour and spent 100 days sailing around
the world. In between assignments since his return home, Kingston has
been acting as a consultant to various National Geographic photographers,
including Richard A. Cooke III, Dewitt Jones, and Flip Nicklin on issues including digital
workflow, file management and Adobe Photoshop. Jonathan currently has
two places he likes to call home, one is in Oregon and the other is
on assignment. With Jonathan Kingston there is no more far away.
